Markets Update:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Stock futures edged higher Tuesday evening after U.S. equities declined in the previous session as rising Treasury yields continued to pressure markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 0.16%, while S&P 500 futures rose 0.16%. Nasdaq-100 futures advanced 0.26%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asian markets were broadly higher Wednesday. Japan\u2019s Nikkei 225 climbed 1.4%, while the broader Topix gained 0.6%. South Korea\u2019s Kospi and Kosdaq both rose more than 1%. Hong Kong\u2019s Hang Seng Index slipped 0.4%, while mainland China\u2019s CSI 300 added 0.36%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treasury yields remained a key concern for investors. The 30-year Treasury yield climbed above 5.6% Tuesday, reaching its highest level since June 2002. The 10-year yield also touched a fresh high since 2007, approaching 5.3%. The moves contributed to declines of more than 100 points for the Dow, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interactive Brokers senior economist Jose Torres said tighter financial conditions were increasing bearish sentiment and demand for downside hedges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, New York Fed President John Williams said there was \u201cno need for urgency\u201d before the Fed\u2019s October meeting. Markets now see a 49% chance of a quarter-point rate hike next month, down from 71% a day earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investors now await Wednesday\u2019s August PCE inflation data, with economists expecting a 0.3% monthly increase and 3.7% annual pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
